On November 29th, the RUDN University hosted a plenary meeting of an international scientific conference, held in the form of Annual Meeting of the International Expert Council on Cooperation in the Arctic (IECCA) on the topic of "Scientific Diplomacy as a Tool for Maintaining Dialogue in the Arctic".
The conference was organized by the Center for
Strategic Research of the Faculty of Economics of RUDN University, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Center for Strategic Estimations and Forecasts.Experts will come together to discuss the development of international cooperation in the Arctic region and the special role of scientific diplomacy in the process of achieving a productive dialogue between the states of the Arctic Council.Experts gathered to discuss the development of international cooperation in the Arctic region and the special role of scientific diplomacy in the process of achieving a productive dialogue between the states of the Arctic Council.During the event, in the format of speeches and discussions, participants outlined the role of science in strengthening trust-based cooperation between the Arctic Council states, considered the impact of scientific diplomacy on the global environmental agenda and sustainable development of the Arctic, and discussed the problems and prospects of international scientific projects in the Arctic region.Experts in the field of international relations, scientists, diplomats and representatives of authorities responsible for the development of the Arctic region were invited to participate.
At the conclusion of the plenary, participants adopted a resolution that, according to conference decisions, will be shared with interested organizations both within Russia and abroad.
